AJ Finn's debut novel The Woman In The Window, set for release in January 2018, was quickly snapped up by publisher HarperCollins last autumn after an eight-house auction, and has since seen its film rights bought by Fox 2000.

The psychological thriller, which was flagged as one of the hot books of the Frankfurt Book Fair, is described as 'Hitchcock's Rear Window meets The Girl on the Train', and follows the story of Anna, an agoraphobic woman who sees a terrible act of violence out of her window one day. It's been praised by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, who said it was 'packed with mesmerizing characters, stunning twists, beautiful writing and a narrator with whom I'd love to split a bottle of pinot'. Finn is otherwise known as Daniel Mallory, a William Morrow editor who submitted the manuscript under a pen name.
